experience meets your expectations. Come
as you are, but If you have boots or shoes with heels on them that is preferable.

ONE
HOUR RIDE
Take
a one hour ride around the 75 acre ranch. You will go through wooded trails, open
pastures, and see great views. We’ll walk, canter, and gallop. If you like you
can learn and help to saddle your horse. $35
Take
a two hour ride along the Paulinskill Trail and River. Paulinskill is a 26 mile
trail, most of which lies on riverine or glacier deposits. For the naturalist,
the trails are a bonanza. Along the Paulinskill Valley Trail alone, 560 species
of birds, representing 20% of the known species in state, have been counted. The
trails provide an excellent place for the observation of beaver, deer, mink, muskrat,
and other wildlife. And, because the railroad often acted as a super pollinator,
spreading seed from unknown, faraway places, many unusual and nonnative plant
species are evident along the way. Relax in the saddle as you take in the views,
nature, the fresh air and experience the pleasure of leading your
horse along the trail. $65
This
is a best value ride. Your ride will take you to the Paulinskill River, the Allamuchy
Mt. Park, or the Swartswood State Park. The Musconetcong River, with some of the
best trout fishing in the state, winds
through Allamuchy State Park. Several miles of trails crisscross through the forests
and marshlands of the park. Allamuchy Natural Area (2,440 acres) The mature mixed
oak and hardwood forests and numerous maintained old fields of this natural area
display various stages of succession and forest development. Many trails traverse
the natural area and provide access to scenic Deer Park Lake, which is centrally
located within the area. Swartswood Lake
(1,357 acres), a glacial lake, provides excellent opportunities for water recreation.
Summer months find Swartswood Lake and Little Swartswood Lake bright with sailboats
and fishing boats, while a sheltered cove in Swartswood Lake is filled with swimmers.
The swimming area at Swartswood boasts safe, clean and clear water as a result
of a model Watershed Management Program. For the fisherman there is an abundance
of large hold over brown trout and walleye. See the views, breath the fresh air
and spend 3 plus hours in the saddle with a break in the middle of the ride. $90
Be
ready to leave the ranch promptly at 9:00am. We’ll take a short trip to the Paulinskill
River, Allamuchy or Swartswood State Parks. The day includes logging in about
25 miles of trails. You’ll spend around five and half hours in the saddle with
breaks along the way. Lots of fresh air, nature, open spaces, and wooded trails.
